Early Interventions

Through early intervention, we help schools, colleges, and families identify issues sooner and respond together. From emotional wellbeing and education support to practical guidance, we create a joined-up approach that gives young people the best chance to thrive.

Once a week we deliver bespoke classroom sessions to years 5 and 6 which aims to develop the breadth of the children’s learning by stepping outside of the school curriculum. This includes learning about children’s rights, the psychology behind emotions (and how to better self-regulate), how the government works, and diversity within our community. Through this work, we are able to establish positive relationships with the children, and by extension their families, which helps us strengthen our work in the community.

The Junior Social Brokers were tasked with making a short film about a topic that matters to them; in preparation, we led a filmmaking masterclass at our centre.

“The Social Brokers made me feel more confident to talk to people and to chase my dreams.”

1:1 Maths and English Support

We also offer 1:1 tutoring in Maths and English for students in years 5 and 6 who are struggling to meet their academic goals. This work is supported by our volunteers, who meet regularly with students to establish learning pathways and ensure that they are pushed further in their attainment.
